Two of a Kind

You were more then a friend.
But we were never lovers.
Not related by blood nor water.
Just two kindred spirits who happened
to meet on Life's road.

We were two lost and lonely souls.
On Life's narrow curvy road.
Two of a kind carrying a heavy load.
Two kindred spirits who just happened to meet.

Now the years have taken their toil.
And someday soon we will both be
planted in the soil.
Perhaps we will meet again in another world
in another time.

The Hawks

High above me in the clear blue sky
I glanced about and saw.
A hawk so majestic and free.
Then I heard the mating call
And then another hawk joined the first.

Mating season for the hawks.
On this an Autumn day.
But does nature make a mistake?
For there joining the first two hawks
was definitely the form of a third.

Hawks are not so different then man.
They all must succumb to the adages
of Mother Nature and Father Time.
Sometimes when we lean toward complacency
an adversary makes us value what we have.

Knowledge

Another stumbling block from the past.
A stumbling block if you wish
But determined to bloom with vigor.
Antiquity things, perhaps, but
determined to come back.
Truth long forgotten is now recovered.
A new light which has dawned after
a long, long darkness.
At the horizon of our knowledge
and at peace within our souls.
Until the brightness of knowledge
competes with the noonday sun.

A Solitary Sparrow

Once a solitary sparrow was invited
to build its nest in a special place.
Far above the clouds where I have never been.
A place where I long too be but its not my time.
Go said the creator and multiply.
Raise your babies. Prevail upon your enemies.
Those that would delight in destroying you.
Go to that far away place. I wish you the best.
And may the God of goodness guide you.
He who knows all things.

Don't forget
to sign my guestbook!!
