Not Even An Ember

Today I looked into the eyes of someone I
thought I knew so well.
The coldness shimmering there chilled
my heart.
I could not believe I was viewing true.
I blinked and looked once more.

The raw hatred and murderous thoughts all
came bursting forth.
Like a roaring fire on a cold winters' night.
There was no warmth not even an ember.

How could things be so wrong?
When once they were so right?
I clutched past memories so tight
they crumbled and blew out of sight.
I felt as though I had been decked.
The darkness grew from a speck.
Our love was dead.


Don't Say You Care

Don't say you Love me when you don't even know me.
For how could you know me or love me when I don't
love myself?
Love is such a foreign thing.
Don't say you care about me and my well being.
For how could you care when I don't care myself?
But most of all don't say you feel sorry for me.
For as soon as you've done your righteous duty
my name once more you've forgotten.
Don't call my name out in public just pray for me
while down on your knees talking to the creator.

outside caused by the ravages of time.

I'm looking for someone whose presence is peace
in and of itself.
I'm looking for someone I don't have to walk
on egg shells with heavy laden feet.
I'm looking for someone who will help me
trust again.
I'm looking for someone who loves me as I
deserve to be loved.
