Trusting

Trusting other people is like planting a garden.
There are things that we must consider.
First we must choose where we are going to till
the soil.
Is that soil healthy? Is it open to sunlight?
Trusting other people takes a degree of wisdom.
We would not plant our seeds on rocks.
Rocks are hard and unforgiving.
When choosing our friends we need to make
sure they are trustworthy.
That they are like the rich soil open to
change and sunlight.

Trusting other people is like taking affirmative
action.
We need to plant our seeds over time and with care.
Welcome us and we will feel safe.
Even the garden of our lives can only take
so much sun and rain in one day.
Trusting others over time will help us to trust
ourselves and our decesions.
Trusting others gives us courage.
It lets us become beautiful.
like roses in a flower garden.

One Night

One night while in the darkness
of depression. I took a walk to
get away from myself and memories
resurfacing.

I looked above the tree tops so
dark and shadowy.
Espying the moon being hugged
by wispy clouds.
Reminding me of an old woman's hair
blowing across her face.

I stood still and silently watched
shadows pass over the moons surface.
Some looked blacker then hearses.
It made me look pale and naked as
I quietly made my way back through
the forest.

Today
Dedicated to: Linda Jacobson: RaindaeL

How blue the sky looks outside of my
window today.
How majestic the trees stand
with their branches outstretched.
How green is the grass that beckons
me - Come Play!

But I can't come outside.
And I don't know how to play.
You see I'm in a prison made
by flesh and bone.
I'm locked inside a place not
even you can come.

Maybe tomorrow - the door -
will swing open of it's own accord.
So that I can walk outside and feel
the grass beneath my feet.
Watch a rainbow or catch a butterfly.

But for today, I can only stand
and look out of my window.
And long for that tomorrow
where my eyes aren't blinded
and my thoughts are clear.

Don't forget
to sign my guestbook!!
