Seven Sparrows

Today I saw seven sparrows
flying off into the Heavens.
How I would have liked to
have been one of those lucky seven.

Today I looked into the clear blue sky
And how I wanted to say goodbye.
But then I heard a pleading voice.
So I stopped at the gate.

Another day will come for me.
And when that day does come.
I will soar off into the Heavens
with the little sparrows, all seven.

Echoes

When I look into your eyes this is what I see...
Blueness of the deepest oceans, sparkles of
the finest gold.
A softness for the beholder. A light from deep within.
When I look at your hands this is what I see...
Long and slim fingers but the touch upon my skin
is as soft as the finest satin.
When I listen to your words this is what I hear...
Soft echoes from days done past, present hopes
and tomorrow's dreams.
When it comes my time to leave this world and
enter another. The last words I want to hear are
the spoken words of my lover.

The Dream
What is the dream that I pursue?
I'm not really sure.
Sometimes I think I see it but its only a mirage.
Sometimes I think I see it while starring out of
my window or looking at nothing at all.

What is the dream that I pursue? Can I find it
between the pages of a book?
Will I find it in the autumn's leaves?
Maybe in winter's first snow? Or in the newness
of spring or in the warmness of summer?

What is this dream that I pursue? Can it be
watching a bird in flight, a fallen leaf, or
a flower I reluctantly picked? That first made
me feel good but then so sad?
This dream is luring me on toward something
elusive but beautiful.

What is this dream that I pursue? Will I ever
find this dream? Would I even know this dream
if I found it?
Maybe with the help of another. I know my
dreams are waiting for me.They are eagerly
awaiting conception.
My dreams are dying to be discovered and embraced.

Searching

I'm reaching for something I can't see, feel
or touch.
I sense its presence and I know I want it very
much.
I reach for something I can't see.I don't even
know where it is.
It could be close or very far away.
I reach for something I can't see. My hopes
and prayers are resting in this.
If I lose it, I begin to panic.
If I find it I hear birds sing.
I reach for something I can't see. I sense its
presence oh so near.
When I catch it, I'll hold it dear.
